Install oracle-rdbms-server-11gR2-preinstall without Oracle support

Within the installation of Oracle Database 11g Release 2, I noticed that the OS did not have the minimum requirements for installation in order to complete the installation

After reviewing the issues listed within the table, I noticed that the majority of the packages were i386 packages. Given that I these are for a 32bit environment and given that I was on a 64bit environment, I intended to simply ignore all of them.

I did however focus on the packages that were (x86_64).

The image here states that 'This is a prerequisite condition to test whether the package "compat-libstdc++-33.3.2.3" is available on the system.

You can see that the actual value is missing. Instead of installing all the packages individually, you can install the oracle-rdbms-server-11gR2-preinstall package, which oracle have placed together, (which is a positive action by Oracle).

You will however need to extract the packages if you don't have the oracle support subscription for automated downloads. To do this, you need to use a wget command to then access the oracle public yum domain. After that, you can run the yum command to install the oracle-rdbms-server-11gR2-preinstall package

[root@localhost database]# cd /etc/yum.repos.d
[root@localhost yum.repos.d]# wget http://public-yum.oracle.com/public-yum-ol6.repo
[root@localhost yum.repos.d]# yum install oracle-rdbms-server-11gR2-preinstall

When you click check again, you will now notice that the required prerequisites are now removed from the screen

HOW TO provision AD group membership from OpenIDM

OpenIDMICFAD-connector

For what I see, there's not too many supportive documentations out there that will demonstrate how provision AD group membership with the ICF connector using OpenIDM. The use of the special ldapGroups attribute is not explained anywhere in the Integrators guides to to the date of this blog. This quick blog identifies the tasks required to provision AD group membership from OpenIDM to AD using the LDAP ICF connector. However this doesn't really explain what ldapGroups actually does and there's no real worked example of how to go from an Assignment to ldapGroups to an assigned group in AD. I wrote up a wiki article for my own reference: AD group memberships automatically to users This is just my view, others may disagree, but I think the implementation experience could be improved with some more documentation and a more detailed example here.
