Unable to login to BI publisher as administrator
So I installed the new version of bi publisher 11g and was presented with the typical welcome screen. The this is, I didn't know the credentials for admin access. The old 10g was Administrator/Administrator though the access control has now been locked down within the new version of bi publisher.
You need to ensure that your xmlp-server-config.xml is configured correctly. Do a search for the xmlp-server-config.xml by running the following command:
sudo find / -name xmlp-server-config.xml
For some reason, I had around 12 different xmlp-server-config.xml so if you make the change and it doesn't work, then you've changed the incorrect file. Because this was my local environment, I decided to change all of them knowing I would be only authenticating against the WLS data store in the near future.
Ensure you're editing the correct xmlp-server-config.xml. The one you need to edit is within the $BI_MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_projects/domains/$BI_HOME/config/bipublisher/repository/Admin/Configuration
Or in my case, it's...
cd /home/oracle/Oracle/biMiddleware/user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/config/bipublisher/repository/Admin/Configuration
Within the file, change the security model to XDO

<property name="SECURITY_MODEL" value="XDO"/>
Then restart the managed process located within the bi instance
[oracle@localhost bin]$ pwd
/home/oracle/Oracle/biMiddleware/instances/instance1/bin
[oracle@localhost bin]$ ./opmnctl stopall
opmnctl stopall: stopping opmn and all managed processes...
[oracle@localhost bin]$ ./opmnctl startall
opmnctl startall: starting opmn and all managed processes...
After you've re-started the managed process, restart the bi Weblogic server
Once the weblogic domain instance has restarted, go to
http://localhost:7001/analytics/saw.dll?bieehome
You should now be able to log into bi by authenticating with your Weblogic credentials

For what I see, there's not too many supportive documentations out there that will demonstrate how provision AD group membership with the ICF connector using OpenIDM. The use of the special ldapGroups attribute is not explained anywhere in the Integrators guides to to the date of this blog. This quick blog identifies the tasks required to provision AD group membership from OpenIDM to AD using the LDAP ICF connector. However this doesn't really explain what ldapGroups actually does and there's no real worked example of how to go from an Assignment to ldapGroups to an assigned group in AD. I wrote up a wiki article for my own reference: AD group memberships automatically to users This is just my view, others may disagree, but I think the implementation experience could be improved with some more documentation and a more detailed example here.
