HOW TO: install OID 11.1.1.6
Since publishing this blog, OID 11gR2 is not available. With this in mind, the latest version of OID is 11.1.1.6.
Pre-requisites
Firstly, I installed some of the packages on the oracle linux environment.
yum install openldap-servers openldap-clients nss_ldap
You also need to install the RCU schema for ODS. You can use either RCU 11gR2 (11.1.2.0) or 11g (11.1.1.6) to construct a valid schema.
Download OID 11.1.1.6
As this demonstration is installed on Oracle linux 64bit version, you will need to download ofm_idm_linux_11.1.1.6.0_64_disk1_1of1.zip from the following URL:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/downloads/oid-11g-161194.html?ssSourceSiteId=ocomen
Note: I installed OVD also, which isn't required though you will need to install ODSM (Oracle Directory Services Manager) to view OID repositories.
Once you've downloaded the file, navigate to the Disk1 directory located in the downloaded file and execute the following:
./runInstaller

For what I see, there's not too many supportive documentations out there that will demonstrate how provision AD group membership with the ICF connector using OpenIDM. The use of the special ldapGroups attribute is not explained anywhere in the Integrators guides to to the date of this blog. This quick blog identifies the tasks required to provision AD group membership from OpenIDM to AD using the LDAP ICF connector. However this doesn't really explain what ldapGroups actually does and there's no real worked example of how to go from an Assignment to ldapGroups to an assigned group in AD. I wrote up a wiki article for my own reference: AD group memberships automatically to users This is just my view, others may disagree, but I think the implementation experience could be improved with some more documentation and a more detailed example here.
